My second song for FAWM is Stay With Me Tonight. I started off by trying to put music to someone else’s lyrics. But the music I created just didn’t work well together (I didn’t like the combination of chorus, verse and lead in). So I scrapped the idea. But, I still liked the chorus I had come up with, so I recorded and saved it for later. Then I spent an evening writing that chorus, followed by verses to go with it. This one was a little easier than the last one.
It was getting late again, so I just recorded an a capella version and called it a night.
This evening, I added guitar.
I think this could use a more subtle guitar part, however, I’m stuck within my own capabilities right now. I’ll keep working on it and hopefully it will evolve into something nice. I definitely don’t want the guitar to overpower the vocals.
